How sharp are you without AI?

Raw is a daily workout for the skills AI is quietly doing for you: reasoning, code, writing, study and teaching. Five minutes a day, no AI allowed. Then see how you did against the AI.

Coming soon to iOS and Android, for ages 13 and up. The waitlist button opens your email app.

A Beat the AI card. The question asks what comes after 1, 2, 4, 8. The player typed 16 and was right; the AI said 24. The screen says You beat the AI.

Inside Raw

Real screens from the app, playing with sample questions and players. Raw isn't out yet, so some details will change before launch.

  • Raw's Today screen: the last cards of today's set, then Keep training, with a 30-minute daily goal ring, a Continue button and today's plan of modes.
    Today, then keep training
  • A Find the bug card in Python: an average function with line 7, count += 1, selected as the wrong line, a timer reading 2:57 and a Check button. A note says paste is off.
    Find the bug, no autocomplete
  • A round of a live battle: both players' scores, a 45-second countdown, a What does it print? question with four choices, a Lock it in button and preset reactions such as gg.
    A live battle round
  • A streak run card with a logic grid: three clues about Ana, Ben and Cai and their pets, and a grid of names against cat, dog and fish with three cells ticked.

  • The Leagues tab: this week's league table with each player's points, the line above which players move up a tier, and the player's own row highlighted as You.
    Your weekly league
  • The week-end moment: Blink the character cheering above a gold shield, the words Moving up with the player's place and points, and the league ladder with the new tier marked You.

Try a card

A sample from Beat the AI, where every question is one an AI got wrong. No calculator, no AI: just you.

Reasoning
Beat the AI
Which is bigger?

Tap one. No calculator, no AI.

Time's up. In the app the card would close; here, answer anyway.

You beat the AI.

What the AI said: 9.11. Write 9.9 as 9.90 and it's clearly more.

You both missed this one.

It's 9.9: written as 9.90, it's more than 9.11. The AI said 9.11 too.

Five tracks. Pick any mix.

Each one trains something AI is happy to do for you. Pick one, or all five.

  • Reasoning

For everyone. Flaws, estimates, real or AI.

  • Code

Bugs and outputs, no autocomplete. Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, Java and Go.

  • Writing

Say it clearly, in your own words.

  • Study

    Maths, reading, explain it back.

  • Teaching

Explain simply, mark fairly, spot AI essays.

How a day works

One short set every day with a clear end, then as much training as you want. Cards get harder as you improve, and skills you stop training visibly fade.

  1. Open today's set

A warm-up, a main card and a finisher: about five minutes. Everyone at your level gets the same cards, so results compare fairly.

  2. Answer it yourself

A timer, no autocomplete and no paste. Stuck? A hint helps, for fewer points.

  3. See how you did

Against yesterday, against everyone at your level, and against the AI's answer. Your streak goes up by one.

  4. Keep training, if you like

Set a daily goal from 5 minutes to two hours. Raw adds cards to your set and plans the rest from these modes.

Speed round
Quick cards against one clock. Every second you have left counts.
Streak run
How many can you get right in a row? It gets harder as you go, and one miss ends it.
Beat the AI
Only questions the AI got wrong. See if you can do better.
Review
Questions you missed before, coming back so they stick.
Boss card
One hard question a day, worth extra XP. You get one try.
Endless
Practice that adapts as you go and keeps going until you stop.

Battles, leagues and duels

Train alone, or test yourself against people at your level.

Live battles
One on one, against someone near your level or a friend you challenge. The same question for both of you, five rounds, 45 seconds each. Right and fast wins. There's no chat, just reactions like gg.
When nobody's around
A ghost plays you: a practice opponent at your level, always labelled as a ghost. You still earn XP, and your rating stays where it is.
Weekly leagues
Clean Raw sets and battles earn league points, and each week the top of your league moves up a tier. 13 to 17s and adults play in separate leagues.
Friends and duels
Add friends with their code or link, never by searching. In a duel, two friends answer the same prompt and other players vote, blind, for the better answer.

The rules

  • no autocomplete
  • no paste
  • no AI
  • just you

Every card is played in Raw mode. Paste is off, there's no autocomplete, and leaving the app pauses the card. An answer made offline, pasted into or after leaving the app still counts for your streak and XP, but it's marked unranked and doesn't count for leagues. Want no clock? Relaxed mode is just for you: no timer pressure, no leagues.

Made for 13 and up

Raw is for people 13 and over, and teens use it, so safety is built into how it works.

Age first
The first thing Raw asks is your birth year, before any email. Under 13, it stops there and deletes what was entered.
Private by default for teens
13 to 17s have no public profile. They battle, duel and play leagues only with their own age group.
No direct messages
No chat, no DMs and no member directory. Friends join by code or link only, so nobody can find you by searching.
Answers are checked
A duel answer with contact details or harmful words is held for a person to review before anyone sees it, and every answer can be reported.
